GRS is an international, voluntary and comprehensive product standard that specifies third-party certification requirements for recycling content, production and marketing chain of custody, social and environmental practices, and chemical restrictions. The goal of GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce or eliminate the hazards caused by their production.
The use rate of recycled fabrics in garments greater than 20% is the access condition for GRS certification. If the garment is to hang the GRS logo, the proportion of recycled content must be greater than 50%. The above ratio is calculated according to the weighing method.
Recycled cotton is made of waste cotton, industrial scraps, fabric and yarn ends of textile companies. According to the “Regulations for the Quality Supervision and Administration of Fibre Products for Cotton” in China, recycled cotton shall not be used for daily necessities and must be marked accordingly.
Cotton fabrics made of high-quality recycled cotton yarns, after weaving and dyeing, can be used to produce work clothing.
At present, the fabrics with GRS certificate that Tomax can provide are:
Recycled polyester/cotton
100% recycled polyester
100% recycled nylon
Recycled nylon/cotton
Recycled polyester laminated fabric
High visibility color is also possible.
